Not sure when i typed this but it is in my drafts and it may need to be shared, so here ya go!


Sometimes life gets in the way of living....other times life gets in the way of loving. I get to a point on days like today where i am so exhausted by the mundane things i pretend are important that i have to stop myself mid complaint and remind myself that things that i hold of importance are not what is necessarily the most important to Christ, and therefore are not of the utmost importance.

Hurt.

Hurt. It is a weird word. Because when someone hurts you there is no other word to exactly explain how you feel. You are simply hurt. This can be in a number of ways, there is physical hurt, which as a child could be cured simply by a band-aid or a kiss from mom. Emotional Hurt, is generally more painful, because it doesn't end. People capable of hurting you generally are people you care deeply about. They can usually hurt you because you desire their happiness or approval. Different life

Here I am in Vegas. Things are so different here. I'm so grateful to have a career but at the same time I'm so far from everyone I love. That makes things so difficult. I'm trying so hard to meet people and build a community here in Vegas. But it is hard when the life I have been called to live looks so different from the lives of so many here. I'm looking for relationships that will point me to the throne of God. That is something I have taken for granted for the last 25 years. Everyone I have been close  friends with loved Jesus too and that is what brought us close. It is hard to build close relationships with people who don't share the love of God that is so important to me. But now I go to sleep. Work comes early in the morning.  Love you all.  Linds

In You, Lord, may I find contentment

So let's get real, I have been struggling lately  my whole life to be content. Content in my bank account, content in my job, content in relationships, content in my relationship status, content with my "stuff". Lately some of these have been ringing more true than ever. On my puny run today God really spoke to me about my heart to pursue Him. Honestly, I have not spent much, if any time pursuing Christ lately. I have been distracted by the things that I am not content with. The things that I am telling Him I want to change are the things keeping me from worshipping my savior because I am too focused on the things He "isn't changing". So on my run I immediately switched my spotify playlist to a praise and worship playlist from my "training day" playlist.
